My father represents somewhat typical middle-aged man that was raised on the beliefs of Marxist ideology of the former Yugoslavia. He studied politics, became director of the Belgrade Marxist centre, than worked in the Communist committee of Belgrade and witnessed radical changes in the course of Yugoslav communists at the beginning of the ‘90s which lead to his drastic change of profession: he is currently running a horse riding club and coaching show jumping. In that sense, I thought of my father’s life story as a metaphor: through investigating relationship with my father I am able to reflect on the recent history and the heritage of former Yugoslavia. In this video, based on his biography, I am questioning his past and present beliefs as a Marxist and the legacy of his generation.
